Peanut Butter Cookies and Invisible Coffee

It seems like my favorite blogs are always posting beautiful pictures of the tasty things they have been cooking up. We've been cooking too, although the pictures are maybe not as mouth-watering as they could be. Tobias is getting less destructive when he helps in the kitchen. He helped stir and shake cinnamon into cottage cheese pancakes, and helped squish peanut butter cookies with a fork.

The recipe for the peanut butter cookies (Aunt Janet's recipe) is:
  • 1 cup of peanut butter, slightly melted
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • Roll, squish, and bake 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees

We re-shaped the cookies featured in the video and do plan to take them to church.
What are your favorite places to get new recipes?

mmmmm what a great little chef!

New recipes are the spice of life at Chez Rapp, but most of mine are from cookbooks. "Simply in Season" is my favorite, followed closely by all of Mollie Katzen's books (www.molliekatzen.com)

Last night I was at a friend's, admiring her stash of cookbooks, and she basically said that she doesn't use cookbooks anymore after going to culinary school...ay yi yi...I think this is the approach my mom and grandmas took.
Where do you get recipes?

Is there supposed to be any flour in the recipe?

Nope, no flour. Perfect for if you have someone over who is gluten-free.

Time in the kitchen with kids is so fun. He's growing up so fast.

So did you like the cookies? I love them not only because they are pretty tasty, quick and easy but also no flour. The church camp the kids go to ask for cookie donations so I made some (and froze them) to take with them Sunday. Our minister loves PB cookies.☺
